Thousands of college athletes from across the country will be headed to Rockford, Illinois to play in the Division-I USA Ultimate College Championships from Friday, May 22 to Monday, May 25.

In the tournament, 40 teams (20 each in the men’s and women’s divisions), will compete to win the college national championship of Ultimate Frisbee.

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced, seven-on-seven field sport played with a flying disc. Players can advance the disc upfield by complete passes to each other until they catch the disc in the opponents’ end zone. If the disc hits the ground the disc is caught by the opposing team it becomes a turnover. Players cannot run with the disc.

In addition to the D-I Championships, Waukegan, Illinois will be hosting the D-III College Championships from Saturday, May 16 to Monday, May 18. Rockford has been a previous host for the D-III Championships in 2018 and 2015, but this only the second time Illinois has hosted the D-I Championships since 1995 when they were held in Champaign-Urbana.

The games will take place at the Mercy Health Sportscore Two Complex, and admission is $45 for a four-day pass or $15 for a one-day pass (if booked in advance).
